Dessert Swap Month

Dessert Swap Month

Lets face it, we all crave a little something sweet from time to time. But, did you know that the foods you choose in those times can make a big impact on how much you crave sweets in the future? Most store bought and homemade desserts typically contain processed sugars that can quickly become addicting and majorly increase your sugar cravings. The goal of the Dessert Swap Month is to reset your taste buds and help you develop a preference for naturally sweet and nutritious foods. This can lead to long-term healthier eating habits and a greater appreciation for the natural flavors in whole foods.

Select a Challenge Level below and get started!
BEGINNER LEVEL

Replace your normal sugary desserts with whole food alternatives. Instead of reaching for a candy bar or a piece of cake, try snacking on fresh fruits like apples, berries, or grapes.

These fruits are still sweet but they're also packed with nutrients and fiber that will help keep you full and satisfied.

INTERMEDIATE LEVEL

Take it a step further by incorporating good proteins and healthy fats into your desserts.

For example, you can enjoy a handful of nuts with dried cranberries, or sandwich some butter between two dates (it tastes like a pancake... we don’t know why.) These options provide a balanced mix of flavor and nutrients that can help stabilize your blood sugar and keep those sweet cravings at bay.

ADVANCED LEVEL

Skip the sweets entirely. When you get a sweet craving, opt for protein, heathy fats, or raw veggies!

Some of our favorite quick options are:

• Beef sticks

• Nuts

• Carrot, celery, or cucumber

• Boiled eggs

• Fresh avocado

• Hummus

• Raw cheese

• Nut butter
