Drink Swap

Drink Swap

Reducing your intake of sugary drinks can make a huge impact on your health in a very short time.

A 12 ounce can of soda typically contains around 40 or more grams of sugar, which is equivalent to 10 teaspoons! This is almost double the recommended daily amount of added sugar for women and more than the total daily amount for men. Energy drinks, sweet tea, and electrolyte drinks also boast 30-40 grams of sugar and higher depending on the brand. And don't even get us started on Starbucks drinks.. with some boasting 70 grams of sugar and even more for the Grande size! (That's the SMALL if you don't speak barista.) No wonder people are experiencing the midday crash.

I know what some of you are thinking.. "But I get the diet version.. the sugar free version.. the zero calorie version..." The list of misleading names goes on and on, but one thing is certain, if the drink is still sweet, its being sweetened by something! These drinks are typically WORSE than their counterparts, because instead of naturally occuring sugars, they are sweetened with lab made chemicals.
